Toll Free 1 800 567 BestThe BEST WESTERN Pembroke Inn & Conference Centre was lucky enough to participate in the 1st Annual Best Western Eastern Ontario Charity Bed Making Competition on April 9th in Ottawa, ON!
Our Dynamic Duo consisted of Karen Charron, our Executive Housekeeper, and Tina Quibell of the Housekeeping Department, and was aptly named the BW Pembroke Inn “Sheet Disturbers”.
What an amazing event! Nine different BEST WESTERN Hotels participated from all over Eastern Ontario, in teams of one or two people, competing in head-to-head and timed events. The beds used in the contest were donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Ottawa afterwards, and the entire day was an amazing display of Teamwork and Comraderie.
Our Team performed admirably, but fell in the Semi-Finals after a close match. The bar was set by some amazing Teams from Cornwall and Ottawa/Gatineau in unbelievable times of around 2 minutes 30 seconds to completely set a perfect bed!
Seeing the skill and tenacity required to win this competition has lit a fire under our Team and The Sheet Disturbers will be back next year to go for the win!
